R. Charles “Chuck” Morton, Chief Sales Officer
Mr. Morton has over 25 years of healthcare and pharmaceutical experience. Beginning his career as a sales representative for Glaxo Inc. in 1988, he was able to learn invaluable marketing and sales techniques that led to his training others within the Glaxo sales organization.
Chuck was able to put his valuable Glaxo experience to work for several large organizations after departing GSK. Eventually realizing that his entrepreneurial energy had to be put in motion, Chuck aligned with several start-up companies that eventually led to his founding a very successful interactive healthcare communications company, Triax Media Group in 1999. In 2010, Triax Media Group was sold to PSKW Associates, where Chuck spent time as Senior Vice President of Sales. Mr. Morton’s primary focus was to develop key medical education based, physician-to-patient interaction applications with companies like Takeda, Astellas and Bausch & Lomb. Chuck also served on the PSKW Board of Directors during his tenure.
In addition to creating innovative platforms and channels for efficient sales flow into targeted pharma partnership organizations, as the Chief Sales Officer of nLIVEn, Chuck is tasked with leveraging his experience to cultivate relationships with key pharmaceutical and healthcare executives and agencies.
Chuck has spent time on the board of directors for several health care related companies and charitable organizations, including the Louisville MS Comprehensive Care Center.
Co-Founder of nLIVEn Group and Board Chair
Joel Davis is the Founder and CEO of JD Events. Mr. Davis is also the co-Founder with Brad Jersey of The nLIVEn Group.
Joel began his event management career in 1986 with Reed Exhibition Companies, where he enjoyed the opportunity to sell and manage consumer and business-to-business events, eventually holding the position of Industry Vice President. Prior to starting JD Events in 2002, he served as President of Primedia/Intertec Exhibitions (now Penton Media), President/Chief Operating Officer of eMarketWorld, and Vice President/General Manager of Imark Communications. Throughout his 27+ year tradeshow career he has served a wide variety of markets including healthcare, fitness, travel, online advertising, direct marketing, magazine and book publishing, building and construction, facility management, media & entertainment technology, and many more.
Joel has a genuine passion for the live event business combined with a deeply held belief in the value of face-to-face marketing and community building. He has been an active member of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) since 1996 and has served on the SISO Executive Committee.
John J. Mooney
John Mooney and Jack Connors founded M/C Communications in 1994. The crown jewel of M/C’s portfolio was the Pri-Med conference series. The goal of Pri-Med is to improve patient outcomes and it accomplishes this by providing world class medical education to primary care practitioners across the US and abroad.
Pri-Med grew from one conference in 1995 to over 100 worldwide by 2004. These conferences educate over 150,000 clinicians annually. John and Jack sold M/C Communications to Bain Capital in 2004. John remained as CEO until 2007.
Prior to M/C, John spent ten years with Reed Elsevier. His first five years were spent at Cahners Publishing Company and his last five at Reed Exhibition Companies. John held a variety of research, marketing, business development and line management roles during his tenure.
In November of 2011, John and the original management team from M/C partnered with Diversified Business Communication to purchase the Pri-Med US assets from M/C Communications. John and the team are enjoying reinventing the medical education space and see nLIVEn Health as a logical synergy realizing that today healthcare is a collaboration.
In 2008, John was the first recipient of the Robert L. Krakoff award in recognition for his contribution to the conference and exhibition industry.
John is a graduate of Boston College.
M. Dix Wheelock
Senior Healthcare Advisor
20 years of experience in healthcare communications. In 1994 Dix became the third member of the Pri-Med team. Pri-Med is a global, multi-channel medical education company serving over 250,000 healthcare professionals on an annual basis.
Between 1994 and 2007, Dix built a world-class sales organization, which fuelled Pri-Med’s ability to produce and deliver web-based, print and live content globally.
In addition to sales, Dix served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and contributed to many successful domestic launches and Pri-Med’s International expansion.
In 2007 Dix left Pri-Med to pursue other opportunities, including acquisitions and startups in the healthcare space.
In 2011 Dix participated in the buy-back of Pri-Med’s US Brands and currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Sales and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Dix is a graduate of St. Lawrence University.
